A new school year is arguably more intense than a new calendar year. It wasn’t long ago that I was a student, so it may be the nostalgia talking, but moving past Labor Day always makes me want to do another round of closet cleaning. This time doesn’t always bring a movie-style makeover, though it definitely provides an opportunity to reflect on past personal style, and make choices about future ones. If you’re a parent sending your little ones back to school, it might be time to swap in some older pieces, and make room for new favorites! Did you know that Swap Society has an amazing selection of gently used kids clothing? Let your kids grow and experiment without having to break the bank. From adorable onesies to sassy dresses, our site can be a one-stop-shop for you and your kids. The added bonus? We curate collections of like-items to give you the most bang for your buck (or points, rather!) From babies to preteens, we’ve got classic, practical, and fun styles for all of your back-to-school students.
Classic and Cute
When it comes to your children, simple can often be the best. These items are no-fuss but still bring a bit of style to the lunch table. Plaid, denim, and small prints are all wonderful ways to accomplish exciting outfits without overcomplicating things. I think every little kid should have a denim jacket, especially in California. Denim is a great material because it insulates well when needed, and is breathable for when it inevitably heats up as the day goes on. If your boy or girl has a denim jacket then there is often no need for an added layer and less chance that they’ll lose a sweater on the bus!
Practical and Point-Worthy
Although back-to-school shopping can be fun, there often has to be a practical element as well. Babies, kids, and preteens all have different needs and that requires buying new clothing items fairly frequently. Instead of going to the store every year, just swap out for that new needed piece! Some of the most exciting swappable items we have are these reusable diapers. Baby necessities have come a long way since cloth diaper days, yet many modern options are incredibly wasteful! Save money, conserve energy, and ultimately save time with these awesome options.
Fun and Festive
At the end of the day, kids just want to have fun– right? If your child doesn’t have to wear a uniform to school, clothing gives them an opportunity to express themselves and find out how they want to present themselves to the world. One way to do that is through images or characters that give them joy! Another, is through actual words written on graphic t-shirts. The “GRL PWR” top below can be a fun way for your girl to begin to think about the power she has in the world, the importance of her voice, and how she wants to use it. These things can seem silly, however, matter greatly in the end. Let back-to-school shopping be a time when your young ones can get creative if they want to!
